Ma. Louise (Liza) Dey

Maria Louise (Liza) TriviƱo-Dey, M. A. received her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University. She is certified with the Psychological Association of the Philippines as a specialist in Clinical Psychology. With unwavering belief in the innate resiliency and wisdom of children, Liza has had around 17 years of practice doing play therapy for children with various emotional and behavioural difficulties brought about by complicated life transitions and trauma.  She’s also giventalks, seminars and workshops to parents, teachers, social workers, law enforcers and law-making groups to disseminate research information, give recommendations, guidance and training to people who work for the welfare of children and their families. She’s currently undergoing training in the practice of Jungian Sandplay Therapy.

Highlights of her masteral thesis were featured in the Philippine Journal of Psychology, (Vol. 33. No. 1. June 2000) and in the book, Children in Pain – Studies on Children who are abused and are living in Poverty, Prison and Prostitution (edited by Ma. Lourdes A. Carandang, Ph. D., Psychological Association of the Philippines, Q. C. 2002) entitled: Minding the minds of the Sexually Abused Street Children: A look into their Cognitive Functioning.
