Quito Colayco Hertz, MBACP
Quito returned to the Philippines in 2012 with her Anglo-American husband after 28 years abroad (Japan, Belgium, UK) and has considerable personal acquaintance with cultural adjustment issues.
Prior to leaving the UK she worked in private practice with individuals and couples and additionally, as a primary care counselor in a medical practice.
Quito believes that each person and every relationship is unique. Her training in different therapeutic approaches - a strong psychodynamic core underpinning cognitive /behavioral methods and mindfulness-based practices – enables her to take a whole-of-life approach based on individual need of each client. For couples work she draws on systemic theory and the relational couples coaching principles of Hedy and Yumi Schleifer.
She works together with clients in exploring and understanding the nature of their difficulties, and helps them discover their own inner resources that can empower them to work on living life in a more integrated, happier, and purposeful way.
Quito continues to work with several UK clients and maintains her UK website http://quito-counselling.co.uk/ You may find a visit informative.
She is a member of the British Association of Counseling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She received a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling from the University of Birmingham and her Diploma in Psychodynamic Counseling from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation (WPF), London.
