Sheena Flynn

Sheena Flynn, MSW, LCSW-R

Sheena is an American national living in the Phillipines since 2012. She graduated with a BA in Spanish and Biology from St. John Fisher College/University of Rochester in New York, and has an MSW in Clinical Social Work from the State University at Albany in New York.  She is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), (SFBT) Solution Focused Brief Therapy, EFT (Emotion Freedom Technique), and working on certifications in Gottman Marital Therapy, Emotion Focused Couple Therapy, and Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy. She is also bilingual in English and Spanish.

Prior to coming to the Phillipines, Sheena was the Clinic Director of Baltic Street Clinic in Brooklyn, NY where she primarily provided supervision, consultation and administrative support to clinical staff members.  She specializes in trauma (i.e. both single episode and complex) and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) as well as with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, acculturative stress, serious and persistent mental health conditions (i.e. Bipolar Disorder) and co-occurring disorders (i.e. substance abuse and mental health).

She has worked extensively with individual adults, families, couples and with adolescents. She utilizes multiple treatment modalities (i.e. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, EFT, SFBT) with her various clientele, and believes this approach is essential as it allows for flexibility and recognizes the uniqueness of each individual client.
