Ms. Aylin M. Bello, MA, RPsy is a licensed psychologist in the Philippines. Years prior to practicing as a licensed psychologist, she was an early childhood educator and an active volunteer in various sectors. She volunteered in Pathways to Higher education, an NGO that provides leadership programs and links to higher education for academically excellent students from the marginalized sector. Her volunteer work also involved works in a rehabilitation center, and in prison through the Skwelahang Sikolohiya Inc.
She also joined the faculty of the School of Education and Human Development in the University of Asia and the Pacific (UAP) and the Department of Psychology in Miriam College where she taught courses such as Theories of Personality, Physiological Psychology, Experimental Psychology, General Psychology, among others.
Her current practice focuses on providing counseling, psychotherapy, and program development for children, adolescents, and adults. Some of the programs that she has developed and implemented focus on cultivating resilience, emotion regulation, mindfulness, self-compassion, and social skills. At present, she is working in both school and clinic setting.
She also engages in assessment and research. Her research interests involve around help-seeking, relapse prevention, program development, mental health, and emotion regulation. She has published some of her works and has presented in both national and international conventions and conferences.
As her advocacy includes normalizing help-seeking and fighting the stigma on mental health, she co-created and currently co-hosts the official podcast of the LS Office of Guidance and Counseling in the Ateneo de Manila University, the Coffee-sations with Your Counselors. This podcast provides relatable information, psychoeducation, and discussion on topics about wellness and mental health.
